Thank you for helping to make our business successful. We'd like to join with you to share our good fortune throughout the year. We will match your contribution to one or more of a group of charitable organizations. Here are the charities we've selected and why we feel a connection with them:
Ceres Community Project of Marin: We want to raise our kids to have an awareness of the importance of giving back to their community. Our lives have been touched by serious illnesses. And we love good food! Which is why we support the mission of the Ceres Community Project of Marin. Wendy and her teenage son volunteer as Chef Mentor and teen cook (along with other teens and adult volunteers) to teach real cooking skills and produce nourishing, healthful meals for individuals and families coping with the challenges of serious illnesses such as cancer. Since the fall of 2010, Ceres has produced over 23,000 free meals. People supporting people during difficult times. It doesn’t get better than that. Cooking Matters: We know that the food we eat has a direct impact on our health. The more access people have to fresh food, prepared at home, the better. Cooking Matters works to make sure all kids have the healthy food they need every day. Cooking Matters is part of Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign, which connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. Kathleen volunteers as a culinary instructor though Cooking Matters' local provider, 18 Reasons. To find out more, click here, or to make a donation, click here.
Teach for America: We feel strongly about education and remember the impact of teachers have had in our lives. Teach for America works to bring great teachers into schools that otherwise might not attract them and we think that is critical for cultivating the next generation. You can read more about the organization here or donate directly here.
University of California San Francisco: UCSF's Benioff Children's Hospital is a fantastic hospital making a difference in kids' lives every day. Curtis' son was born there and Craig's son spent time there shortly after birth. We are grateful for their high standard of care and want to help them maintain it. You can read more about UCSF here or donate directly here. When donating to the UCSF Foundation, please add a designation to Benioff Children's Hospital.
